I know that it can be difficult to remain humble and accept correction, but it is necessary for our spiritual growth, our homes and communities. We must aim to have solid foundations in our faith, and be willing to submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit because we absolutely need it. I encourage you to check yourself often to guarantee that you are operating in the spirit of the Lord, the Holy Spirit. Instead, we must be open to examination and humble ourselves before the Lord. When someone speaks to us with a scriptural perspective, we must not reject it because it challenges our opinion, behavior, or mindset. Submission is just, necessary, Godly, and respectable. Many of us are a bit heady and take no correction or accountability… It’s amazing how I know a woman could read this post and still find a way to say “this isnt true about me/us! MEN–” We must remember that submitting unto the truth is not determined by our emotions of how the truth makes us feel, especially when living in willful sin. It has become apparent to me that we as women, who claim truth, have become dismissive of the truth and instead have adopted an attitude of arrogance regarding the word of God, especially, when reinforced at them by a man of God. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But ( S)earnestly desire the higher gifts.Īnd I will show you a still more excellent way.This matter that has been on my heart for some time now. 28 And ( K)God has appointed in the church first ( L)apostles, second ( M)prophets, third teachers, then ( N)miracles, then ( O)gifts of healing, ( P)helping, ( Q)administrating, and ( R)various kinds of tongues. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together if one member is honored, ( H)all rejoice together.Ģ7 Now ( I)you are the body of Christ and individually ( J)members of it. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 13 For ( C)in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body- ( D)Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and ( E)all were made to drink of one Spirit.ġ4 For the body does not consist of one member but of many.
